Meet the Team
Alex
Alex is co-owner of C.D. Barcados Co. Ltd. After completing his Bachelor of Commerce at Queens University, Alex took his Graduate Gemologist degree at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Santa Monica. Alex is also a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) and the Canadian Gemmological Association (CGA). Alex is a Past-Chairman of the Canadian Jewellers Association. Alex has also served on the Boards of the CGA, Jewellers Vigilance Canada and the Canadian Jewellers 24K Club. Alex is currently on the Jewelers Mutual Insurance Board of Directors. Alex travels regularly overseas on business, including Thailand, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Brazil.
Craig
Craig grew up in the BC interior. He studied gemmology and diamond grading in London at the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A), graduating with Distinction and Merit honours. Craig has been with C.D. Barcados Co. Ltd. for 14 years and spends most of his day working with customers and their coloured gemstone orders.
Garance
Garance began her jewellery career after graduating from the Jewellery Art program at George Brown College. After working and gaining experience for more than five years in the jewellery industry, she decided to enroll in the Material Art program of jewellery at OCAD University to further her knowledge. Garance is the production & media coordinator for both Paragon Fine Jewellery Ltd and C.D. Barcados Co. Ltd.
Carol
Carol, the company matriarch, is responsible for the bookkeeping and receivables at the office. Carol has been an integral part of the company for over 40 years.
Constantine
Constantine passed away in 2017, but his commitment to excellence and integrity continue to be guiding principles for us.
Susan
Susan is co-owner of C.D. Barcados Co. Ltd. After completing her Bachelor of Commerce at Queens University, Susan went to Santa Monica and took her Graduate Gemologist degree at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Susan is involved in all levels of the business.
Jane
Jane is the Office Manager at C.D. Barcados Co. Ltd. Jane is responsible for the operations in the office, overseeing our inventory control and process flows. Jane is widely respected in the industry for her expertise, reliability, and integrity.
Negin
Negin manages the finished jewellery and special orders for our sister company, Paragon Fine Jewellery Ltd. She started her career in the jewellery industry when she discovered her passion for wearable and functional art. Negin spent the past 10 years working in design, manufacturing, sales, marketing and management to expand her experience in the industry. Negin is a graduate of the Jewellery Arts program from George Brown college and she is finishing her Graduate Gemologist program from GIA.
Anna
Anna began her gemmological training in Israel where she completed a diamond grading course and worked as a diamond cleaver at the Israeli Diamond Bourse. After immigrating to Canada, Anna became a fellow of the Canadian Gemmological Association (CGA), and proceeded to earn a Master Valuer diploma in gem and jewellery appraising. With over 20 years of gemmological experience, including 11 years working as an appraiser for a major gemmological lab, Anna is more than qualified to assist our customers with all of their gemstone inquiries and orders.
Vanda
Vanda has over twenty years of experience in the jewellery industry, and has an extensive background in customer service and office administration management. Vanda is helping with bookkeeping duties for C.D. Barcados Ltd. as well as our sister company, Paragon Fine Jewellery Ltd.. She is also working with inventory processing and control, and shipping and receiving.
